CHRISTIAN BULLEN

Christian has worked with Act4Fun for around 7 years and has been director for all 6 productions. Christian began working in theatre at the tender age of 5 and has loved it ever since. He had worked with many amateur companies up until the age of 10 where he gained confidence and performance skills. From the age of 10 Christian worked with 'The National Youth Music Theatre' in London after passing national and central auditions. At the age of 11 Christian took a supporting role in 'Oliver Twist' in the New Theatre, Cardiff and later on in that year came back to Barry to take a lead role in 'Peter Pan' in the Memorial Hall where he played 'John'. At age 12 Christian worked in Cardiff with 'Awakenings Theatre Company' and appeared in 'Under Milk Wood'. Christian then worked with other various companies until the age of 14, however, whilst training tirelessly for his black belt in Karate he found little time to devote to theatre but still worked with ACT4FUN and other local companies. At the age of 15 Christian decided to produce 'Beauty IS a Beast' which was Act4Fun's first production where he gained vital 'hands-on' experience, this production being commended by 'The Barry and District News'. In February 2006 Christian played 'Chino' in 'West Side Story' for 'Pukka Productions' and in April he directed his 2nd production with Act4Fun 'Westenders'. In the summer of 2006 Christian was awarded GRADE A GCSE DRAMA & THEATRE STUDIES and acheived FULL MARKS in his performance practical (only 14 people in Wales acheived this). In the November of 2006 Christian appeared in 'Joseph' with Pukka Productions and in the December he produced his 3rd production with Act4Fun 'Cinderella Rock'. In January 2007 Christian became 'Children's Director' for Pukka Productions and produced 'Magic of the Musicals' which went on to be performed at the Memorial Hall in 'The Peter Karrie Show' where he appeared with Pukka Productions. In May 2007 Christian played various roles in 'The Buddy Holly Story'. In the summer of 2007 Christian began classical singing lessons, produced Act4Fun's 4th production 'Thank you for the Music'. Also in this summer he worked in London at 'WICKED the Musical' and picked up professional dance technique and vital theatrical terminology, he worked at The Wales Millenium Centre with 'The Welsh National Opera' and he also did filming work for S4C. He also acheived GRADE A ADVANCE SUBSIDARY in DRAMA & THEATRE STUDIES. In the October of 2007 Christian appeared in 'HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL' at the New Theatre, Cardiff. In December 2007 Christian directed Act4Fun's 5th Production 'The Phantom of the Pantomime'. In Februaray 2008 Christian did a professional 'hip-hop and street' course. In March 2008 Christian appeared in 'A Midsummer Nights Dream' and played the role of 'Puck'. In April 2008 Christian acheived a place at 'Cardiff School of Creative Industries' where he will be training for a BA HONS in DRAMA and will train one day a week at 'The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama'. In June 2008 Christian directed 'The Sound of Summer', Act4fun's 6th Production. In September 2008 Christian will be working with a TV and Film agency.
